Online hub launched to share Derbyshire’s NHS COVID-19 info

Derbyshire residents can get the latest NHS Covid-19 information while staying safe at home with the launch of a new online hub.

A one-stop shop of latest updates, advice, information and direct ‘signposting’ to other helpful websites has been added to the Joined Up Care Derbyshire hub at https://joinedupcarederbyshire.co.uk/covid-19-information-and-advice

The information will help keep people safe, informed and able to access services during the country’s continuing lockdown in response to the pandemic.

All seven NHS organisations working across the county and the city and county councils will have their service updates covered as they are all partners in the ‘Joined Up Care Derbyshire’ health and care partnership.

A postcard is being delivered to homes across Derby and Derbyshire to make sure everyone knows where they can find this information, and make arrangements to help those who do not have access to the internet.

Healthwatch Derbyshire has also provided their number so residents who want to speak to someone to get support in accessing the information.

Dr Chris Clayton, Chief Executive Officer, NHS Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “We’re continually evolving and developing our local, regional and national response to Covid-19.

“Daily national directives and briefings are helping staff and the public to stay safe, take necessary precautions and do everything possible to halt the spread of this disease and keep the NHS in a position to cope with this challenge.

“Each organisation is doing sterling work in informing the public, but this one-stop shop will bring them all that information together so people can easily access all trusted NHS information from one place.”

John MacDonald, Chair of Joined Up Care Derbyshire, said: “Our partnership brings together health and care services to help them work better together to serve people as well and as efficiently as we all can and now it’s more important than ever to let people know what is happening at Derbyshire’s hospital trusts, with mental health providers, our local authorities, and GP practice care networks.

“I hope the public find it useful and for their current health and wellbeing needs.”

The site also has updates and resources for NHS staff to provide some additional mental wellbeing support and other useful information for everyone working in health and care during these challenging times.

Helen Henderson-Spoors, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Derbyshire, an independent organisation which supports people in accessing and getting involved in local healthcare, said: “We welcome the launch of this hub, which will keep the public informed though a single point of contact in this fast-paced situation.

“We’re passionate about making sure health and social care users get the help and support they need – particularly the most vulnerable – as we work through Covid-19.”
